Hello, my beautiful audience! It is Ranchi, here with another article from my cosy space on the Internet. As far as I see, you have been having some problems with uneven and dull skin. Achieving even skin tone naturally sounds impossible, yet you can do it with enough care and patience. Exfoliation and gentle hyperpigmentation fading will be the key to radiant skin.

No need to reach for harmful chemicals when you can turn to your kitchen shelf. Here I will share with you five completely safe homemade body scrubs that you can use once or twice a week. Gently rub them onto wet skin for a minute, leave for 5-10 minutes for absorption and rinse. Let's get to work!
1. Energy Coffee and Sugar Scrub
My favourite thing that instantly boosts up energy and gives life to my skin is a coffee scrub. Coffee grains are rich with antioxidants, which will improve your blood circulation. At the same time, sugar works as a physical exfoliant.
You will need:
2 tablespoons of used coffee grains
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of coconut oil to add moisture
Mix all the components till they form a wet sand-like texture. This body scrub is ideal for sun tan removal and leaves your skin super soft and energetic.
2. Brightening Yogurt and Honey Scrub
When you are in need of some gentle brightening, this mixture does its job perfectly. Yoghurt is a wonderful source of natural lactic acid, which helps you to dissolve dead skin cells without intensive rubbing. Honey has the quality of being a humectant – it will draw moisture into your skin.
You will need:
2 tablespoons of unflavored yogurt
1 tablespoon of raw honey
1 tablespoon of grounded oats
This mixture is really soothing and helps with gradual discolouration fading without any damage to your natural barrier.
3. Texturizing Aloe Vera and Rice Flour Scrub
As I said, rice flour has been widely used in various home remedies for ages, and there are reasons for that. It has wonderful skin-brightening and texturising qualities which result in a beautiful glass-skin effect. In combination with aloe vera, it becomes a deeply hydrating treatment.
You will need:
½ cup of fine sugar
2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
1 tablespoon of rice flour
Aloe vera is a deeply healing agent and will make sun-damaged skin hydrated without extra effort. This treatment is my number one remedy for achieving a gorgeous, clear complexion before any important events.
4. Lemon and Sugar Scrub for Rough Areas
We all have rough areas like elbows and knees which are hard to smooth out. Lemon is rich with vitamin C and natural acids, which help in lightening dark spots. It is a great remedy for dealing with stubborn hyperpigmentation.
You will need:
½ cup of white sugar
2-3 drops of fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons of cold-pressed coconut oil
This treatment is a perfect solution for rough and darkened areas. Remember, that lemon makes your skin highly sensitive to sunlight! Apply this scrub only during evenings and never go outside unprotected the next day.
5. Comforting Oatmeal and Honey Scrub
When you have sensitive and irritated skin that gets red due to intense physical scrubs, you should try some comforting remedies. This recipe will help you to soothe your skin barrier while still gently exfoliating.
You will need:
½ cup of finely ground oatmeal
2 tablespoons of pure honey
1 tablespoon of sweet almond or coconut oil
Oatmeal is a great anti-inflammatory product, and honey is naturally antibacterial. Together they form a wonderful soft paste which leaves your skin deeply nourished.
Additional Tips for Your Even Skin Tone
Making homemade body scrubs is not the only step in order to get beautiful skin. For the maintenance of healthy skin, you should feed it from the inside. Hydrate yourself properly by drinking enough water and eating antioxidant-rich fruits.
You should never forget about moisturiser! After every shower, you should always use rich lotion or body oil while your skin is still wet. Regular exfoliation uncovers new skin, which is highly sensitive to sun damage, so please use sunscreen (SPF) every time you step outside.
I will gladly help you in customising these recipes! What is your skin type – dry, oily or sensitive? Do you want to deal with dark spots in certain areas, like your elbows and knees? I will help you to adjust these recipes or recommend some wonderful products available in India.
My Tip: Honestly, I love to keep my coffee body scrub in the shower. The aroma of this amazing scrub awakens me in the morning, and the coconut oil makes my skin so hydrated that I do not need lotion anymore.
